OUR INITIATIVES

REFLECT FORWARD

Reflect Forward is a joint-movement between One Love Australia and the Australian sports industry supported by the Victorian Government.

This initiative covers working and creating impact with:

  • Elite athletes

  • Sporting organisations

  • Player associations

  • Schools

  • Community sporting clubs

  • Business & organisations

It’s backed by athletes, national sporting organisations and players’ associations who want to commit to making meaningful change in eliminating racism in Australia. Many previous campaigns have preceded this movement, they focus on awareness and education - we go one step further by building measurable impact into our long term model that is aimed at meeting people where they’re at in their racism education journey.

#sharetheplatform

The #ShareThePlatform campaign was about giving black, indigenous & people of colour (BIPOC) founders an opportunity to share the platform of successful start-ups in order to tell their stories.

This initiative covered impacting:

  • BIPOC Founders

  • Australian and International Business Influencers

The aim of the #ShareThePlatform campaign is to start a conversation. Structural racism is prevalent in many countries around the world, including Australia. We’re here to listen to stories, and share them with the world.

It involved individuals, start-ups, corporates and Not-For-Profit organisations in the campaign to join the conversation around what meaningful change looks like. With influential business people Seth Godin (AltMBA), Malcolm Turnbull (Ex-Prime Minister), Mark Bouris (Mentored, Yellow Brick Road), Janine Allis (Boost Juice), Guy Kawasaki (Canva) and Daniel Flynn (Thankyou) all having conversations with start-up founders.

kia kaha concert

On the day of March 15th, 2019, a terrorist killed 51 people while they were in prayer at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand. This was an act of hate driven by ignorance. As a global society we are still coming to terms with the concept of ‘Us Versus Them’ instead of just ‘Us’ - we focus on the differences between people, but if we focused on what we have in common we could achieve so much more together.”

This initiative worked with:

  • Australian & New Zealand Musicians

  • The Christchurch Local Community

On May the 4th 2019, the Kia Kaha concert was held in Christchurch as an opportunity for the community to come together in a statement of love and support. It featured Australian and local musicians to create an evening that featured acts Reece Mastin, Taylor Henderson, Alfie Arcuri, Louise Adams & Cobham School Choir featuring Ali Harper.
